Zarqa: The Hashemite University (HU), along with the Scientific Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders (SCADD), hosted a delegation from Iraq's Ministry of Health and the National Autism Center at the Child Protection Hospital in Iraq to discuss potential collaboration. The discussions focused on the exchange of expertise and consultations in the fields of special education, occupational and physical therapy, and medical and educational diagnosis for children with autism and developmental disorders.
According to Jordan News Agency, during the meeting, SCADD President Mohammed Abu Dalhoum and HU Vice President Khaled Abu El-Teen emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration with community institutions and centers dedicated to special education, particularly in autism, as well as in physical and occupational therapy. Abu Dalhoum expressed SCADD's eagerness to expand its cooperation with leading universities, highlighting the Hashemite University's specialized academic programs in autism studies.
The Iraqi delegation had the opportunity to visit HU's Queen Rania Faculty for Childhood. They observed the university's inclusive kindergarten and model nursery, as well as the physical and occupational therapy labs and the Community Rehabilitation Center for Disability Cases in the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences.
The meeting also saw the attendance of key figures such as the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Dr. Amin Eleimat, and the Vice Dean of the Queen Rania Faculty for Childhood, Ghaleb Hiyari, along with heads of relevant departments and faculty members, and the Iraqi delegation.
