Hashemite University Completes First Phase of Smart Agriculture Project

Zarqa: Hashemite University (HU) has completed the first operational phase of its Smart Aquaculture Project by creating the "Smart Agricultural House." This initiative is part of a larger research project implemented by the Prince El Hassan Bin Talal College of Natural Resources and Environment.

According to Jordan News Agency, the project's inauguration was marked by HU's Vice President, Dr. Khaled Abu-Elteen, who emphasized the significance of supporting research with tangible environmental and economic impact. Dr. Abu-Elteen also noted the project's role in enhancing students' skills for careers in smart agriculture and its contribution to achieving food security.

Dr. Salman Kofhi, the dean of the college, reiterated the institution's commitment to fostering a research-driven environment aimed at advancing agricultural innovation. The project seeks to integrate cutting-edge eco-control systems and modern sensors to develop a robust infrastructure for smart agriculture research.

Principal researcher Dr. Fakher Akkour shared that future plans include establishing a research station for forage crops and fish farming, forming part of an integrated eco-model.
