Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a recent meeting with political and media figures at Al Husseiniya Palace, emphasized Jordan's unwavering stance on maintaining its security and stability. He declared that Jordan will not permit any interference that threatens the safety of its citizens or turns the Kingdom into a conflict zone.
According to Jordan News Agency, the King expressed gratitude to Jordanian elites for their role in clarifying Jordan's position both domestically and internationally. He highlighted the importance of their contributions to strengthening national unity. His Majesty also discussed the serious implications of Israel's actions against Iran and emphasized Jordan's diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving regional calm and stability. These efforts include coordinating with key partners to promote peace, based on the two-state solution.
The meeting also addressed King Abdullah's recent trip to Europe, which aimed to secure international backing for Palestinian rights. Discussions included the urgent need for an end to the conflict in Gaza, the facilitation of humanitarian aid to the region, and efforts to de-escalate tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
Participants at the meeting lauded the King's diplomatic initiatives, which they said protect Jordan's interests and assets. They reiterated Jordan's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the Palestinian people, viewing Jordan as a firm ally to its Palestinian and Arab counterparts.
Some attendees warned that the escalating tensions posed a risk to regional security, underscoring the necessity of unified Arab efforts to halt the escalation and restore peace. They also commended the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and security agencies for safeguarding the Kingdom's security, while calling for enhanced national unity.
Several attendees remarked that the challenging regional environment has strengthened patriotic values among Jordanians, particularly the younger generations, rallying them around the country's leadership.
The meeting was attended by Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh.
