Amman: The Hashemite University (HU) and the German Embassy in Amman have engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing technical education, activating student and academic exchange programs, and establishing joint projects across sectors such as advanced technology, environment, renewable energy, sustainability, and water.
According to Jordan News Agency, HU President Khaled Hyari emphasized the importance of leveraging Germany's experience in education, research, and practical training. Hyari highlighted the need to strengthen cooperation in technical majors that align with the industrial sector, aiming to develop the education system and meet labor market demands. He also underscored the significance of joint academic programs, including teaching German to university students and Arabic to German students, as a means to foster cultural understanding and deepen academic relations.
German Ambassador to Jordan, Bertram von Moltke, lauded the university's academic standing, scientific excellence, and its openness to international collaboration. He advocated for activating partnerships with German universities in areas such as language education, hosting German students, and expanding joint research and bilateral projects.
During a visit to the Prince Hassan bin Talal Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, Ambassador Moltke observed student-led initiatives focusing on environmental and developmental issues. These included green projects that reflect the university's commitment to sustainability and volunteer work. He commended the students' innovation and active participation, stressing the need to expand environmental cooperation between Jordanian and German universities.
