Highway Patrol Launches “Iftar for Fasting Drivers” Initiative to Promote Road Safety

Amman: In observance of Ramadan, Jordan's Highway Patrol Department has launched the "Iftar for Fasting Drivers," which began on the first day of Ramadan and will continue throughout the holy month. Police officers stationed on highways across the kingdom have been distributing light meals, water, and dates to drivers at Iftar time while also advising them to drive cautiously and safely to ensure they reach their destinations without incident.

According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative reflects solidarity, trust, and compassion between citizens and law enforcement, embodying religious, humanitarian, and social values associated with Ramadan. Additionally, it serves as a road safety awareness campaign aimed at ensuring a secure driving environment.

Furthermore, security personnel from various units and formations have been stationed along roads to greet citizens, distribute water and dates, and provide advice on safe driving practices. This initiative is part of a series of Ramadan-focused community programs undertaken by the Public Security Directorate (PSD), reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and ensuring public safety and well-being throughout the month.
