House’s foreign affairs committee slams Israeli moves in Jerusalem

Chairman of the Lower House of Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Khaldoun Hina, on Thursday condemned recent Israeli violations in occupied Jerusalem, namely the demolition of two Palestinian homes in the Shiekh Jarrah neighborhood.

Hina stressed the Parliament’s rejection and denunciation of Israeli policies in Jerusalem which, he said, are designed to alter the status quo in the holy city and forcibly evict Palestinians out of their homes in an illegitimate bid to change the city’s demography.

The lawmaker underlined Jordan’s efforts, spearheaded by His Majesty King Abdullah II, to support the Palestinian people and protect Muslim and Christian holy sites.
