Mokena: The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the arrest of a criminal illegal alien, Hamed Mohammed Hamed Alsaidi, by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after he was previously released by sanctuary officials in Illinois. Alsaidi, a Jordanian national, was found in possession of multiple Molotov cocktails.
According to Homeland Security, local police in Mokena, Illinois, initially arrested Alsaidi on August 1 after observing suspicious behavior. He was first encountered at a closed gas station and later seen walking in traffic lanes, leading to his arrest. During the arrest, officers discovered that Alsaidi was carrying eight Molotov cocktails and had provided a false identity, using the alias Hakmat Saidi. He was charged with felony unlawful possession of a weapon and obstructing identification, with his criminal history revealing a prior domestic battery arrest.
ICE had promptly lodged a detainer with Will County following Alsaidi's arrest, but sanctuary officials released him without notifying ICE after a pretrial release was granted by Judge Theodore Jarz on August 2. ICE managed to apprehend Alsaidi again on August 4, ensuring he remains in ICE custody.
"This criminal illegal alien was arrested after he was found to have EIGHT Molotov cocktails in his possession and gave a false name to officers," stated a DHS Spokesperson. The spokesperson criticized the decision of sanctuary politicians in Will County for not honoring the ICE detainer, expressing concerns over the risk posed to American lives. The DHS urged Governor J.B. Pritzker to reconsider sanctuary policies, suggesting they endanger public safety.
Alsaidi reportedly entered the United States illegally via California in March 2024 and was subsequently released into the country by the Biden Administration. Illinois has seen a series of crimes involving illegal aliens, including kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder, highlighting ongoing concerns about sanctuary policies in the state.
