Amman: The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) Jordan chapter, in partnership with the Audit Bureau of Jordan, has convened the AWJ Conference 2026 to address sweeping changes in public administration and financial monitoring, officials said on Saturday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the joint event brought together financial leaders, regulatory experts, and accounting professionals to discuss the integration of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and strategic planning within public and private institutions. Radhi Al-Hamadeen, president of the Audit Bureau, emphasized during the event that public sector management is undergoing a fundamental shift away from rigid procedural compliance toward a focus on results, efficiency, and measurable value.
Al-Hamadeen noted that this evolution is redefining how state resources are managed, expanding past simple cost measurements to look closely at performance tracking and long-term organizational impact. To drive this institutional change, the Audit Bureau has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) to train national personnel. The agreement targets skill development in cost analysis, performance measurement, and the deployment of modern management accounting tools within regulatory auditing.
The collaboration will focus on building capacity through specialized global credentials, including the Financial and Managerial Accounting Associate (FMAA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified Strategy and Competitive Analysis (CSCA) certifications. Ahmad Makhilati, IMA's senior regional director for Middle East and India operations, said the strategic partnership reflects the institute's commitment to advancing the local accounting profession and fostering corporate excellence through accredited education.
Nadine Haddad, president of the IMA Jordan chapter, added that the conference serves as an essential platform for bridging gaps between the public and private sectors, academic institutions, and professional bodies. The conference included specialized panels focused on corporate governance, the application of big data and artificial intelligence in financial analysis, regulatory trends, and evolving practices in auditing and financial risk mitigation.
