The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj) signed two memoranda of understanding with “Scientists of Tomorrow” (SoT) and the Jordan Ireland Business Association (JIBA).

According to an Intaj statement on Sunday, the memo with Scientists of Tomorrow aims to strengthen partnership and orchestrate efforts to support initiatives that focus on strengthening action with school students in the science, technology, engineering and maths fields across the Kingdom.

The MoU inked with JIBA aims to enhance exchange of expertise and and increase investments between the two countries in the fields of information technology and job opportunities, and hold meetings every 3 months to follow up on all relevant details, the statement added.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Intaj’s head, Eid Sweis, said the association will work under MoU to network SoT with the Kingdom’s entrepreneurship system , adding that Intaj helps school students and workers in the educational system achieve their aspirations by using technology.

Stressing the importance of the partnership with JIBA, he noted Intaj seeks to open new markets for national companies, which makes this partnership the beginning step to enter Irish market.

For his part, SoT and JIBA Chairman, Mohammad Tahboub, said Scientists of Tomorrow is a new national initiative based on a proven model, implemented in Ireland, adding that efforts are made to implement it in Jordan in a bid to develop solutions to social, technical and economic challenges based on scientific approaches.

With regard to JIBA, Tahboub said this association seeks to strengthen trade relations between Jordan and Ireland, in cooperation with the two countries’ business communities to launch new business relations in the field of information and communication technology, food, medicine, tourism and education.
