Amman: The Integrity Caravan visited the Ministry of Transport on Tuesday as part of the second round of the National Integrity Index 2024-2025, which assesses the extent to which government institutions uphold standards of integrity, transparency, and good governance. During the meeting, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport, Fares Abu Dayeh, reiterated the ministry's commitment to supporting national efforts that strengthen institutional integrity.
According to Jordan News Agency, Abu Dayeh emphasized the ministry's focus on fostering a work environment rooted in transparency and fairness, while ensuring full cooperation with the caravan team in conducting the required surveys. Abu Dayeh noted that such initiatives are vital for boosting citizens' trust in public institutions, improving performance, and enhancing the quality of services provided. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to embed integrity standards as a cornerstone of sustainable development.
Members of the caravan team presented the methodology of the National Integrity Index's second cycle, which includes conducting employee and customer opinion polls to objectively gauge institutional integrity. The surveys, conducted both in person and electronically, aim to provide a realistic assessment of each institution's commitment to integrity standards.
The team explained that the survey results will contribute 40 percent of an institution's total index score, offering detailed data to highlight strengths and areas for improvement ultimately supporting better work environments and higher service quality. The visit is part of a series organized by the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, in partnership with the Hayat Centre - Rasid and Plan International, targeting 119 government entities nationwide. The initiative supports state efforts to strengthen integrity practices, uphold justice, and advance national development goals.
