Amman: Interior Minister Mazen Faraya directed administrative governors to release 571 administrative detainees, effective as of Monday.
According to Jordan News Agency, the amnesty was granted following a comprehensive review of the detainees' cases, concluding that the prison terms already served were sufficient. The decision aims to allow these individuals the chance to reintegrate into society and lead normal lives with their families.
The ministry emphasized that this move reflects a humanitarian approach to administrative detention, while still maintaining adherence to legal and security measures. These measures are essential to manage and reduce the criminal activities of individuals deemed dangerous.
