Amman: The Institute of Public Administration (IPA) has launched two new leadership programs aimed at modernizing the public sector in Jordan. These programs include an advanced government leadership program for directors and a women's leadership program tailored for department-level female heads.
According to Jordan News Agency, the programs are part of the Support to Public Administration Reform in Jordan project, initiated by the Italian Government and the European Public Law Organization (EPLO). Balbisi highlighted the importance of cultivating high-performing government leaders as a driving force behind the Public Sector Modernization Program, emphasizing that such leadership is crucial for achieving Jordan's modernization vision.
Balbisi noted that the vision for Jordan's public sector is focused on creating a collaborative, flexible, and citizen-centered government that is prepared for future challenges. She stressed the need for leaders who are passionate, committed to integrity, and capable of turning challenges into opportunities with creative solutions.
The Ministry is dedicated to fostering a culture of communication, teamwork, and proactive leadership. It aims to empower leaders to anticipate future developments with professionalism and agility, ensuring sustainable administrative reform.
IPA Director-General Siham Khawaldeh affirmed the institute's role as a national center of expertise and a key partner in the modernization of the public sector. She emphasized that enhancing human resource performance is a core pillar of administrative reform, supporting Jordan's political and economic modernization.
Khawaldeh explained that these programs are part of an integrated institutional framework based on Future Leadership Management Guidelines. These guidelines promote governance and role alignment among institutions to ensure sustainable leadership development in the public sector. The programs are designed to meet practical needs and assess leadership competencies, equipping participants with the necessary tools for effective leadership in the era of digital transformation and modern organizational culture.
Lian Catinis, Project Team Leader for the Support to Public Administration Reform in Jordan, stated that the initiative aims to strengthen human resources and public service pillars in Jordan's modernization roadmap. He noted that these programs represent a significant step forward in enhancing public sector leadership skills and addressing emerging challenges efficiently.
The ceremony concluded with the institute renewing its commitment to developing future government leaders in collaboration with local and international stakeholders. This effort supports comprehensive administrative reform aligned with His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision for a modern, efficient, and citizen-focused public sector.
