Irbid Municipality Shuts Down 127 Violating Establishments During 2025

Irbid: Greater Irbid Municipality (GIM) took significant action against non-compliant businesses, closing 127 establishments during 2025.

According to Jordan News Agency, Yahia Omari, the Director of Health and Environmental Affairs Department, revealed these figures in a statement to 'Petra' on Tuesday.

The municipal staff issued health violations against 2,937 entities and warned 14,593 establishments over the course of the year. Omari highlighted that the municipality received 344 health complaints last year, and 417 establishments and individuals were referred to the governor for legal and administrative action due to violations.

Omari also reported that the municipality received a total of 470 complaints related to stray dogs. In its efforts to maintain public health and safety, the municipality teams conducted 1,178 professional license inspections and utilized 7.52 tons of rodenticide alongside 480 rodent control cubes to manage rodent populations.
