Amman: The Islamic National Party described His Majesty King Abdullah II's address before the European Parliament as an urgent appeal to rein in the wars raging across the globe.
According to Jordan News Agency, speaking during a meeting of the party's political bureau on Tuesday, Party Secretary-General and MP Mustafa Amawi said the King's speech reflected deep pain and anxiety over the widespread killing, destruction, and the dangerous deviation of the global moral compass that now threatens the future of humanity.
He added that His Majesty carried in his address the suffering and agony of Gaza, highlighting the genocide and brutality being inflicted upon its people. The King, Amawi noted, called for an immediate end to the war and urged the free world to come together to stop the horrific crimes tarnishing humanity's conscience.
Amawi stressed that the King's address placed the international community before its responsibilities at a critical and deeply troubling moment. The speech, he said, aligns with Jordan's national position in calling for an end to the rampant bloodshed, the violation of human dignity, and a return to humanitarian values and international norms that should guide global interests rather than letting those interests dictate the fate of the world and future generations.
He described the speech as a powerful humanitarian plea against global chaos and warfare, rich in meaning and moral urgency.
"We in the Islamic National Party take great pride in His Majesty's leadership, wisdom, and the voice of justice he embodies," Amawi stated. "We stand firmly behind him in his defense of Palestine, Gaza, human dignity, and the right of peoples to live in security and peace."
