Gaza:An Israeli airstrike has caused significant damage to two educational units operated by Tkiyet Um Ali (TUA) in northern Gaza, the charity announced on Sunday. The airstrike, which took place early on Friday morning, affected facilities that offer educational and psychosocial support to local children.
According to Jordan News Agency, no casualties were reported among staff or students, as the strike occurred on Friday, which is the weekly day off. TUA Director-General Samer Balkar stated that the organization, in collaboration with its local partner, Palestine Tomorrow for Social Development, has begun assessing the damage and conducting repairs to resume services swiftly.
Balkar emphasized that the attack will not deter TUA from continuing to expand its efforts to support children impacted by the conflict. The Ta'afi (Recovery) program for the Children of Gaza, launched in May in partnership with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), operates 14 units across the enclave. This initiative serves approximately 3,100 students aged 5 to 16, providing safe learning spaces, remedial education, school meals, and psychosocial support as part of Jordan's ongoing humanitarian relief efforts, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II.
