Beirut: Two Lebanese individuals were killed in separate airstrikes conducted by the Israeli military on the towns of Hanin and Tallousa in southern Lebanon.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry of Public Health confirmed these incidents on Monday, highlighting the escalating tensions in the region.
A Lebanese security source informed Petra's correspondent in Beirut that Israeli forces were executing intensive shelling in various southern towns, leading to the destruction of several houses. The source further stated that the Lebanese army has established two significant positions in the border town of Adaysseh. One position faces the border wall gate in Misgav Am, while the other is opposite a newly established Israeli position within the buffer zone south of the town.
In a separate development, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, speaking from Beirut, reiterated Germany's support for Lebanon, especially after the completion of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission at the end of 2026. During a joint press conference with Lebanese officials, Steinmeier emphasized that the German federal government consistently opposes any permanent occupation of Lebanese land, asserting that such occupation is unacceptable and must cease.
