Gaza City: Israeli occupation forces have intensified their operations in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, resulting in significant casualties and widespread destruction. In the last week alone, 88 Palestinians have been killed and 231 wounded in the Gaza Strip.
According to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the conflict has seen Israeli forces crossing the yellow line demarcating their areas of control in Gaza, exacerbating displacement among Palestinians. Violations of the ceasefire agreement were reported, with Israeli forces conducting deadly operations in Deir al-Balah, east of Shujaiyya, and Khan Younis. The airstrikes, artillery, and naval bombardments resulted in several massacres and the demolition of numerous homes, particularly in Khan Younis and Rafah.
In addition to the ongoing violence, humanitarian organizations have raised alarms over deteriorating conditions in Gaza. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has ceased its operations, and warnings have been issued by UNRWA and the World Food Programme about the worsening humanitarian situation as winter approaches. Concerns have also been raised about potential toxic substance leakage into groundwater in Deir al-Balah.
The situation in the West Bank has similarly deteriorated, with Israeli forces conducting 437 raids on Palestinian cities and villages. These operations resulted in the deaths of seven Palestinians, including children, and injuries to 23 others. The forces also carried out widespread arrests, detaining 292 Palestinians, including minors. Additionally, there have been numerous reports of settlers engaging in destructive activities, such as demolishing homes and shops, seizing land, and vandalizing Palestinian property.
Settlement activities have surged, with new outposts being established in various regions, including Al-Quds and the northern Jordan Valley. The weeklong escalation of violence has seen settlers isolating agricultural areas, bulldozing land, and uprooting olive trees, leading to 1633 recorded crimes in Palestinian territories.
