Jerash Festival Highlights Women’s Handicrafts and Local Products

Amman: Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts Executive Director Yazan Khudair and President of Voluntary Societies Union of Jerash Zaid Zboun visited the pavilion of charitable societies participating in the festival's 40th edition, where they viewed a range of handicrafts and traditional products made by women exhibitors, showcasing local craftsmanship and creativity.

According to Jordan News Agency, Khudair said the Women's Empowerment Center pavilion has become one of the festival's key attractions by providing women's groups and productive associations with a platform to display and market their products to visitors from Jordan and abroad. He said the festival seeks to promote its developmental and economic role alongside its cultural and artistic mission by supporting women's empowerment and helping income-generating families.

During the tour, Khudair listened to presentations from participants on the products they exhibited, production methods, and the challenges they face. He stressed the importance of continuing support for such initiatives and expanding marketing opportunities for traditional crafts and local industries.

For his part, Zboun said around 50 charitable societies were taking part in this year's festival, describing the event as an important opportunity to promote products made by charities and income-generating families while showcasing Jordanian heritage and traditional crafts to festival visitors. He added that the participation contributes to strengthening income sources for beneficiary families and supports economic and social development within local communities.

Zboun reaffirmed the General Union of Charitable Societies' commitment to supporting the participation of charitable organizations in national events, particularly the Jerash Festival, to help expand marketing opportunities for their products and reinforce their developmental and economic role. The tour also included a visit to the Hippodrome venue, where Khudair and Zboun reviewed the cultural performances and activities taking place as part of the festival program.
