Amman: The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) personnel, in cooperation with the Royal Department for Environmental Protection, have shut down an illegal chocolate production site operating in a residential area south of Amman.
According to Jordan News Agency, the JFDA stated that its inspectors discovered raw materials for chocolate production on the premises, including oils, dyes, and flavorings without proper labeling. Additionally, they found empty containers, labels, and a machine for affixing them to packages.
The seized items were confiscated and destroyed in accordance with regulations to prevent them from reaching the local market. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings against those responsible for the site.
The JFDA emphasized that it is continuing inspection campaigns as part of its summer monitoring plan, aiming to ensure the flow of safe and wholesome food to consumers.
