The weather on Thursday is expected to be cold and partly cloudy to cloudy along with spotty showers in the northern and central parts of the Kingdom extending later to cover the southwestern areas, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

On Friday, similar weather conditions will continue to persist, with a weak chance of light showers in the northern region, the JMD added, noting that clouds will gradually decrease at night and the weather will start to stabilize.

Toward Saturday, cold conditions will remain in much of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will be pleasant, with easterly light winds, the forecasters predicted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across Jordan today will range between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 6C or even 2C in the southern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be warmer with mercury levels reaching a high of 21C and a low of 9C.
