Amman: Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yarub Qudah, has announced Jordan's intention to increase its exports to the Palestinian market significantly. He emphasized the importance of the private sector in advancing the national economy, promoting growth, and creating job opportunities.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qudah made these remarks during a dialogue seminar organized by the Palestinian-Jordanian Business Forum (PJBF). He highlighted the goal of doubling Jordan's exports to the Palestinian market, which is expected to enhance the trade flow between the two regions. The minister also praised the efforts of the private sector and PJBF in fostering economic cooperation between Jordan and Palestine.
Additionally, Qudah addressed Jordan's strategic role concerning Syria, describing the country as a "gateway" to the reconstruction efforts in Syria and Gaza. He mentioned ongoing discussions between Jordan and Syria to facilitate the movement of local products to Eastern Europe.
Meanwhile, PJBF Chairman, Nazmi Atmeh, underscored the private sector's contribution to realizing the Economic Modernization Vision, increasing growth rates, and attracting investments. He also noted the forum's objective of promoting investment opportunities in Jordan and collaborating with the public sector to enhance the Kingdom's investment environment and competitiveness.
Atmeh added that the forum comprises over 250 businesspeople from multiple economic sectors, who collectively own more than 1,000 companies, all working towards these common goals.
