Jordan and Azerbaijan Strengthen Parliamentary Relations

Amman: Lower House First Deputy Speaker Mustafa Khasawneh stated on Monday that Jordan and Azerbaijan are bound by solid relations based on mutual respect, common interests, and coordination in international forums.

According to Jordan News Agency, Khasawneh welcomed Azeri Ambassador Eldar Salimov to discuss prospects of forging closer cooperation. He noted the strong ties at official and grassroots levels, adding that the two countries saw eye to eye on key issues.

Khasawneh emphasized that such visits underline the level of cooperation between the two nations. He further mentioned that under the House's bylaws, the Jordan-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Association was established earlier with the aim of exchanging parliamentary work and benefiting from each other's expertise.

The Azeri envoy, Eldar Salimov, also spoke of joint efforts to enhance relations in various fields. He urged for increased cooperation in trade and other economic sectors, aiming to strengthen the ties between Jordan and Azerbaijan even further.
