Cairo: Jordanian Ambassador to Egypt, Amjad Adaileh, met with Egyptian Minister of Endowments, Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, to deliberate on enhancing joint cooperation in religious fields, as part of the "brotherly and historic" ties between the two nations. This discussion underscores the advanced and strategic relationship both countries share, marked by brotherhood and mutual respect over decades. According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting highlighted Jordan-Egypt coordination in advocating for the Palestinian cause. Both sides emphasized the significant role their respective endowment ministries play in highlighting and supporting Palestinian issues while countering misleading narratives that undermine legitimate rights and the historical status of Palestine. Adaileh reiterated Jordan's commitment, guided by King Abdullah II's directives, towards the holy sites in Jerusalem under the Hashemite custodianship. He emphasized the Jordan-run Jerusalem Waqf Department's exclusive authority in managing the affairs o f Al-Aqsa Mosque. Dr. Osama Al-Azhari acknowledged the strong bilateral relations as a reflection of the deep and historic ties between Jordan and Egypt. He highlighted their coordinated stance on Arab issues, particularly the firm and identical position on the Palestinian issue. Al-Azhari lauded Jordan and the Hashemite leadership for their unwavering support for Palestinian rights and the sanctity of Jerusalem. He also noted Egypt's significant contribution, providing about 85% of the global aid to the Gaza Strip, demonstrating Cairo's ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.
