Jordan and Egypt Foreign Ministers Strengthen Coordination Amid Regional Escalation


Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi met with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty to discuss the ongoing regional tensions and emphasize the importance of bilateral coordination.



According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and Egypt, underscoring directives from His Majesty King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to enhance coordination. The ministers focused on managing the repercussions of regional escalations and explored diplomatic routes to ensure regional security and stability. They also discussed joint Arab efforts to tackle ongoing crises.



The ministers condemned Iranian attacks on Jordan and Gulf states, labeling them as unjustified and a violation of international law. Safadi affirmed Jordan’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty, while Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s unwavering support for Jordan. Both ministers reiterated solidarity with Arab states against Iranian aggression.



The discussion also covered the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, urging the full implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan and an end to illegal Israeli actions in the West Bank. They condemned restrictions on worship and the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque gates, warning against the violation of international law.



Support for Lebanon was also affirmed, with the ministers condemning Israeli attacks and stressing the importance of national institution activation in Lebanon. They agreed to maintain cooperation on mutual interests and continue coordination in various areas.
