Amman: Finance Minister Abdul Hakim Shibli launched a £1.6 million (nearly JD1.3 million) EU-funded twinning project aimed at strengthening Jordan's land management framework to drive sustainable economic growth.
According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative aligns Jordanian priorities with the public sector expertise from Croatia, the Netherlands, and Spain. This collaboration seeks to improve public services and secure property transactions, thus fostering investment and entrepreneurship in the region. Shibli emphasized that improved land-use planning would bolster sectors such as housing, agriculture, and food security, while also aiding Jordan in addressing climate change and environmental challenges.
The project is a testament to the robust partnership between Jordan and the EU, Shibli noted, highlighting how it supports joint efforts to modernize public administration and enhance government efficiency. The launch event was attended by EU Ambassador Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, along with diplomats and international officials, marking a significant step in the collaboration between Jordan and the European Union.
