Jordan and International Date Council Discuss Palm Sector Growth

Amman:Agriculture Minister Saeb Khreisat held a virtual meeting with International Date Council (INTDC) Executive Director Princess Sara Saud to explore boosting cooperation and expanding Jordan's date and palm industry.

According to Jordan News Agency, the talks focused on leveraging international expertise to make Jordanian dates more competitive, support local farmers, and enter new global markets. Developing the date sector is a top priority for the ministry, as stated by Khreisat.

Both parties highlighted the benefits of council membership, which include access to investment platforms, joint projects, and unified market data on prices, quality standards, and production trends. They discussed participating in targeted council initiatives and using international studies to attract investments and expand trade networks.

The meeting confirmed Jordan's nomination for a seat on the INTDC's Executive Board for the upcoming term, aiming to enhance the Kingdom's active role in shaping global date industry policies.
