Amman: Chief of Public Security Directorate (PSD), Maj. Gen. Dr. Obeidallah Maaytah, met on Thursday with Director General of the Palestinian Civil Defence (PCD), Maj. Gen. Akram Thawabteh, and his accompanying delegation. In a PSD statement, the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the areas of training, technical capacity building, and exchange of expertise.
According to Jordan News Agency, Maaytah affirmed the PSD's commitment to maintaining mutual cooperation and coordination with the PCD, in line with the Royal directives aimed to support and empower the brotherly Palestinian people and their national institutions, mainly in the civil defense field. Speaking at the meeting held at the PSD's Headquarters, Maaytah indicated that the directorate prioritizes consolidation of strategic partnerships with counterpart agencies in Arab countries, which contributes to developing security and civil defense systems and raising the level of community safety at the local and regional levels.
Meanwhile, Thawabteh valued the PSD's efforts to support the PCD in all civil defense and protection areas. Thawabteh also emphasized the importance of strengthening the current cooperation, which has contributed to raising the efficiency and capabilities of PCD's personnel.
