Jordan and Turkey Strengthen Parliamentary Ties Through Bilateral Talks

Amman: Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi met with the Turkish Ambassador to the Kingdom, Yakup Caymazoglu, to discuss bilateral relations and explore ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, with a focus on parliamentary engagement.

According to Jordan News Agency, Qadi emphasized the significance of Jordanian-Turkish cooperation in serving their shared interests and advancing consultation on regional issues, especially the Palestinian cause. He reiterated the necessity of supporting the two-state solution as the sole path to achieving regional security and stability.

Qadi also highlighted the importance of backing Syria's efforts towards unity and stability, while praising Turkey's stance in supporting the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, which plays a role in preserving the city's identity and protecting its legal and historical status.

Ambassador Caymazoglu affirmed that both countries share aligned positions on the Palestinian issue and expressed Turkey's eagerness to enhance all areas of cooperation with Jordan. He also reiterated Turkey's support for the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem's holy sites and acknowledged the critical roles played by both Jordan and Turkey in supporting Syria's unity, security, and stability.
