Jordan and Türkiye Engage in Climate Cooperation Discussions

Amman:Environment Minister Ayman Suleiman and Turkish Ambassador Hakan Karaçay have engaged in talks focused on environmental and climate cooperation, as well as priorities for the upcoming 31st UN Climate Change Conference (COP31).

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions between the two officials included topics such as climate action, the green and circular economy, sustainable resource management, and the exchange of expertise on mutual environmental interests.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for COP31, addressing key issues on the conference agenda and emphasizing the need to transition from commitments to implementation in areas like adaptation, mitigation, and climate finance. Suleiman highlighted the importance of COP31 outcomes supporting developing countries in their climate commitments, while considering national circumstances and priorities.

Furthermore, Suleiman underlined the significance of ongoing coordination between Jordan and Türkiye on environmental and climate matters, both bilaterally and at the international level.
