Amman:Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi and British Ambassador to Jordan Philip Hall discussed the enhancement of parliamentary cooperation between Jordan and the UK.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qadi highlighted the strong ties between the two nations and emphasized the ongoing cooperation that benefits multiple sectors. He outlined Jordan's modernization efforts in politics, economics, and administration, all initiated under the guidance of King Abdullah II to increase public participation in decision-making.
Qadi praised King Abdullah II's recent address at the UN General Assembly, which presented a strategic vision urging the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations. The address outlined a comprehensive peace roadmap advocating for a two-state solution, ending the occupation, and establishing an independent Palestinian state. Qadi also expressed appreciation for the UK's support for a two-state solution and its decision to impose sanctions on Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Ambassador Hall commended King Abdullah II's leadership in promoting regional security and stability. He expressed the UK's interest in expanding ties with Jordan and praised Jordan's modernization initiatives. Hall reiterated the UK's support for a two-state solution and Palestinian statehood, highlighting the important role of Hashemite Custodianship over Jerusalem's holy sites.
