Amman: Minister of Agriculture Dr. Saeb Khreisat on Saturday engaged in discussions with Uzbek Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jamshidjon Abduzukhurov, focusing on enhancing bilateral agricultural cooperation. The talks took place during the Uzbek government delegation's visit to the Kingdom.

According to Jordan News Agency, Khreisat introduced plans to boost cooperation by forming joint technical committees to oversee the implementation of proposed action plans. The initiative aims to foster collaboration in plant and animal wealth, modern agricultural technologies, and agri-investments, with a particular focus on grain cultivation and livestock.

Khreisat highlighted the significance of the Uzbek delegation's visit, which includes representatives from various ministries. He emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between the private sectors of both nations to benefit the agricultural sector.

The Uzbek official conveyed his country's willingness to exert effort in developing cooperation in scientific research, modern technologies, and livestock. Both parties explored opportunities for exchanging technical expertise and capacity-building programs. There were also discussions on investment opportunities, enhancing agricultural trade exchange, and expanding mutual cooperation areas.

The Uzbek delegation is scheduled to visit several agricultural production sites in the Kingdom to assess capabilities and explore future collaboration opportunities.
