Amman: The fifth edition of the Jordan Arab Media Festival concluded with significant Arab participation, focusing on the theme "Supporting Palestine." The event brought together officials, media professionals, and researchers to deliberate on the Palestinian cause and formulate strategic actions. According to Jordan News Agency, the festival's closing session, "Arab and Jordanian Diplomatic Efforts in Supporting the Palestinian Cause," was moderated by journalist Esraa Tbeishat. Ambassador Ziyad Majali highlighted Jordan's diplomatic dedication to Palestinian rights, emphasizing the creation of a Palestinian state and ending the conflict in Gaza and the West Bank. Majali reiterated King Abdullah II's stance on rejecting alternative homeland proposals, underscoring Jerusalem as a non-negotiable issue for Jordanians. The King consistently advocates for the right of return and compensation for Palestinian refugees and has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist Gaza. Majali affirmed Jordan's commitm ent to the two-state solution as the only viable path to peace. Amjad Qadi, chairman of the festival's organizing committee, outlined key recommendations, stressing the centrality of the Palestinian issue for Arabs and the need to leverage media resources to support Palestinian resilience against occupation. The recommendations urged international and global media institutions to highlight these issues and fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities. The festival also emphasized the advancement of digital media to effectively convey the Palestinian narrative, particularly to younger audiences. It proposed forming a follow-up committee to coordinate efforts among Arab media institutions and develop unified media terminology supporting Palestine. Promoting Palestinian identity in media by highlighting cultural and national values was also highlighted as an integral part of Arab identity. Participants agreed to host the sixth edition of the festival in Palestine, asserting the Arab media's collectiv e duty to address ongoing Israeli aggression. They called on media institutions to amplify advocacy efforts for Palestine using all available media tools to disseminate the Palestinian narrative globally. The festival concluded with a panel discussion, "Jerusalem in the Arab Conscience," moderated by former Minister of Culture Abdullah Auwaidat. Participants, including former Deputy Prime Minister Jawad Anani, former Minister of Interior Samir Habashneh, and Jerusalem Governor Adnan Ghaith, discussed challenges to Arab efforts, political and economic dimensions, and mechanisms for Arab and international cooperation to support Jerusalem. The session reaffirmed Jerusalem as an Arab and Islamic concern.
