Amman: Prime Minister Jafar Hassan presented his government's vision for public sector modernization, youth development, and media reform before Parliament today, emphasizing that modernizing the public sector serves as the foundation for broader national development initiatives. According to Jordan News Agency, Hassan announced ambitious digital transformation targets, pledging to automate 80% of government services by next year and achieve full automation by the end of 2026. The government will establish 10 new comprehensive service centers next year, bringing the total to 15 centers across all governorates. "Public sector modernization is the lever for all modernization paths," Hassan stated, emphasizing the need to develop institutions and legislative frameworks. The government plans to train approximately 20,000 public sector employees next year through the Public Administration Institute, focusing on efficiency and institutional culture enhancement. Addressing youth development, Hassan committed to tr ansforming youth centers into hubs for training and educational programs. "Our programs are fundamentally built for youth, ensuring better opportunities for them to be stronger, more capable, and more competent than us," he stated. The media sector will undergo comprehensive reform, with sectoral dialogues planned for the first half of next year to develop a vision for modernization. Cultural initiatives include expanding the Jerash Festival and supporting intellectual and artistic talents. In his closing remarks, Hassan addressed criticisms about raising expectations too high. "Our expectations should match this great country's journey and its people's aspirations," he stated. "The government wasn't tasked with managing expectations, but with working diligently to unlock potential and achieve ambitions." The Prime Minister concluded by acknowledging challenges ahead while expressing optimism about Jordan's future. "While we may not be able to avoid external challenges, with God's help, our people's determin ation, and our leadership's wisdom, we will overcome them," Hassan affirmed. The confidence vote debate will now proceed in Parliament, where lawmakers will decide whether to grant the government their trust based on this comprehensive policy statement.
