Amman: The Jordan Chamber of Industry has introduced a new knowledge series called "Industrialist's Compass," designed to offer industrial companies a simplified and practical analysis of significant global economic, trade, and regulatory changes. This initiative aims to help companies in the industrial sector of Jordan make informed and adaptable decisions in an ever-evolving business landscape.
According to Jordan News Agency, the series, launched by the chamber's Studies and Policies Department, is part of its ongoing efforts to bolster national industrial competitiveness by providing specialized economic insights to industrialists. This comes at a time when global shifts in international trade, supply chains, environmental regulations, geopolitical developments, and technological transformation are rapidly accelerating.
The "Industrialist's Compass" series is particularly focused on answering the crucial question for manufacturers: "What does this mean for my factory, and what should I do?" It offers practical recommendations and actionable steps to help companies prepare for changes, seize opportunities, and mitigate risks.
The inaugural issue of the series addresses the European Union Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which is one of the most significant new trade-related regulations impacting exporters to the European market. It provides an explanation of the mechanism, covered sectors, and its potential implications for the Jordanian industry. The publication also offers practical guidance for early preparation, including organizing energy and fuel consumption data linked to production, identifying emission sources, and engaging early with European clients to understand requirements.
Additionally, the chamber highlighted the European Commission's self-assessment tool to evaluate exposure to CBAM requirements. It stated that the "Industrial Compass" will be issued periodically, covering priority topics such as global trade developments, energy and raw material prices, supply chains, tariffs, international regulations, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.
The series is part of the chamber's ongoing efforts to enhance knowledge-based services for industrial firms, thereby strengthening their ability to adapt to global transformations. This initiative is expected to support export growth and reinforce the competitiveness of Jordanian industry in both regional and international markets.
The Jordan Chamber of Industry has urged industrial companies to follow the series and leverage its content as a practical tool to understand global shifts and convert them into growth opportunities.
