Amman, Jordan Friday condemned the persistence of an extremist to burn copies of the Qur’an, the most recent of which was the burning of two copies of the Qur’an in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the gravity of allowing “extremist and fanatical” practices, which represent a manifestation that contributes to the escalation of the phenomenon of Islamophobia that feeds violence, extremism and insult to religions.

The Ministry added that there must be respect for religious symbols, and actions that fuel hatred and discrimination must end, noting the need for international efforts to spread and promote a culture of peace and acceptance of others.
