Amman: Jordan has strongly criticized recent statements made by extremists within the Israeli government regarding the displacement of Palestinians. The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs condemned the comments, highlighting a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister about the potential displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry considers these statements a violation of international humanitarian law, international law, and the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land. The Ministry emphasized the importance of establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Ministry Spokesperson Fuad Majali reiterated Jordan’s strong denunciation of the Israeli actions and declarations aimed at imposing new realities on the Palestinian population. He highlighted that these actions intend to use famine and embargo to forcefully displace Palestinians, constituting an ongoing violation of international law and United Nations resolutions.

Majali labeled the expulsion of Palestinians as a war crime and affirmed Jordan’s commitment to opposing such actions. He expressed Jordan’s support for Egypt in resisting attempts to undermine the Palestinian cause and the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.

Majali called on the international community to fulfill its moral and legal obligations by pressuring Israel and its government to cease its operations in Gaza and halt divisive rhetoric. He urged global efforts to protect Palestinian rights and facilitate the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state to ensure regional peace and stability.
