Jordan condoles Egypt over deadly church fire

Jordan expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with Egypt after a fire at a church in Giza on Sunday killed at least 35 people and injured many more.

Haitham Abu Alfoul, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, expressed the Kingdom’s support for the Egyptian government and people, offering condolences to the victims’ families and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

According to a health source, the preliminary death toll from the fire at the Abu Sefein Church in the Imbaba neighborhood of Giza city in Cairo was 35, and 45 were injured.

According to Egyptian security sources, the fire was eventually brought under control, and an investigation was launched to determine the causes of the fire, which was reportedly caused by an electrical short-circuit.
