Amman, Jordan and Egypt on Wednesday discussed a mechanism streamlining trucks’ entry to both countries, a statement by the Ministry of Transport said on Thursday.

During a Jordanian-Egyptian land transport technical committee meeting, both countries agreed to extend the current mechanism that allows trucks to cross into and out of the other country via the Aqaba-Nuweiba route, regardless of whether the trucks are empty or carrying cargo, for an additional two years.

Furthermore, the entry mechanism for buses transporting passengers between the two countries was maintained for the next two years, subject to registration at Nuibaa customs upon entry and exit.
