Gaza strip: The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) and the Jordanian Campaign have successfully wrapped up a free medical week in the Gaza Strip, providing much-needed medical care to the region's residents.
According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative, conducted in partnership with Yas Medical Clinic from August 2 to 6, facilitated 1,845 medical consultations and treatments spanning multiple specialties. This effort aimed to alleviate the substantial burden on Gaza's strained health sector. The program encompassed services in general medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, dermatology, ENT, general surgery, and internal medicine, with additional support from pharmacy, laboratory, and nursing services.
Statistical reports indicate that the general medicine clinic attended to 406 patients, while dentistry catered to 327 individuals. Dermatology services were provided to 130 patients, pediatrics to 109, ENT to 76, general surgery to 17, and internal medicine and nephrology to 12. Complementary services included 656 pharmacy visits, 98 laboratory tests, and 14 nursing procedures, ensuring comprehensive care from diagnosis through to treatment.
The initiative was designed to ease the pressure on local families by offering essential healthcare free of charge, addressing the severe resource shortages and ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
