Jordan, Hungary Discuss Parliamentary Relations

Amman: Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi and Hungarian Ambassador Attila Kalli met on Sunday to explore ways to enhance relations between Jordan and Hungary in parliamentary and other fields.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi emphasized Jordan's commitment to advancing cooperation with Hungary, particularly in the areas of trade and cultural relations. He also expressed interest in increasing the number of scholarships available to Jordanian students at Hungarian universities and fostering closer parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.

The Hungarian envoy lauded Jordan's role in the region and praised His Majesty King Abdullah's leadership in promoting security and stability in the Middle East. He reiterated Hungary's support for the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Additionally, the ambassador expressed Hungary's deep appreciation for King Abdullah's efforts at the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ in Al-Maghtas.
