Amman: The latest edition of the Official Gazette has announced amended import regulations for 2025, which will be effective from November 1. The new regulations prohibit the import of vehicles classified as "Salvage" or "Junk" in their country of origin, as well as those that have sustained severe damage from incidents like fire or flooding.
According to Jordan News Agency, the amendments also include a ban on importing small electric passenger cars that are more than three years old, including the year of customs clearance. "Salvage" vehicles are those that have suffered significant damage in their country of origin and are considered unfit for use but repairable. In contrast, "Junk" vehicles are deemed beyond repair and are considered scrap, intended only for spare parts.
These instructions are issued in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 4307, dated June 28, 2025.
