Jordan Int’l Food Festival Launches Relief Campaign for Gaza

Amman: The Jordan International Food Festival (JIFF) initiated a relief campaign for the people of the Gaza Strip, in collaboration with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO). A convoy of five trucks, loaded with food and medical supplies contributed by participating companies, institutions, and individuals, departed from the festival's location.

According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative aims to deliver a total of 300 tons of food to Gaza, transported in three batches throughout the festival's duration, ensuring a continuous flow of aid. The campaign organizers emphasized their commitment to supporting the needs of "our brothers and sisters in the Strip."

Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board, expressed that under the leadership of King Abdullah II, Jordan remains committed to supporting Gaza amidst humanitarian challenges. He highlighted Jordan's unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause and its ongoing commitment to delivering relief aid.

JHCO spokesperson Anas Adwan stated that the campaign reflects the social responsibility of the private sector and embodies the true values upheld by the Kingdom in its humanitarian missions. The campaign will continue during the festival, encouraging donations and participation from various sectors and communities.

Festival Director Jihan Sahawneh noted that the campaign aligns with the festival's mission to support humanitarian and community initiatives. She emphasized the festival's role in empowering youth through entrepreneurial initiatives in the food sector.

The festival, featuring 165 Jordanian entrepreneurial projects, 76 women from local communities, 180 restaurants, and 20 food factories, supports 38 local communities across the Kingdom. It focuses on productive kitchens, handicrafts, and experiences led by local community members.

The Jordan Tourism Board announced that proceeds from the festival, scheduled to be held in Amman from August 6-11, will be donated to the children of Gaza.
