The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Saturday sent condolences to the government and people of Pakistan over the victims of massive floods that were triggered by heavy downpours that struck several regions in Pakistan, leaving dozens of deaths and injuries and causing widespread damage.

The Ministry’s spokesperson Haitham Abu Al-Ful expressed Jordan’s solidarity with the government and people of Pakistan, voicing his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, and wishing the injured speedy recovery.

Due to the current weather conditions in Pakistan, the spokesperson urged Jordanians living in flood-stricken areas for caution and to heed safety instructions of Pakistani authorities, and for emergencies to call the Jordanian Embassy in Islamabad or the ministry’s operations center.

The embassy in Islamabad has worked in the past two days to evacuate a stranded Jordanian student and a number of Palestinian students from a city in Sindh province to safety in Karachi.
