Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez met with Pakistani Ambassador Khurram Sarfraz Khan to discuss strengthening relations across various sectors, in addition to the current situation in the region and the latest developments in the Iranian-American-Israeli war.
According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez stated that Jordanian-Pakistani relations, which have been established since the 1960s, are longstanding and founded on mutual respect and cooperation for the benefit of both nations. He emphasized the Senate's commitment to advancing cooperation between Jordan and Pakistan, promoting economic, investment, and trade ties through the signing of additional joint agreements, and enhancing the exchange of goods, products, and diversified investments.
Fayez also lauded Pakistan's mediation efforts aimed at ending the Iranian-American-Israeli war to restore regional security and stability and prevent a broader conflict. He highlighted the diplomatic initiatives led by His Majesty King Abdullah II with regional and international leaders to de-escalate tensions. Fayez asserted that Jordan would not allow itself to become a battlefield for any party and condemned the Iranian attacks on Jordan, Gulf states, and other Arab countries.
Pakistani Ambassador Khan praised the significant role and ongoing efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II in resolving the region's challenges through diplomatic means. He expressed pride in the high level of Pakistani-Jordanian relations and reiterated the commitment to maintaining and strengthening them across all fields.
