Amman: Jordan, through the Independent Election Commission (IEC), has joined the international observer mission for Georgia's municipal elections, which commenced on Saturday. A total of 3,061 polling stations opened across the country and are set to close at 8:00 p.m.
According to Jordan News Agency, the IEC's involvement is part of an international effort to ensure transparency and fairness in the election process. Mahmoud Al-Zaben, Director of Information Technology, and Sultan Al-Qudah, Director of Internal Control, represented the IEC. They focused on reviewing the technology used for balloting and vote-counting.
The IEC's participation followed an invitation from the Central Election Commission of Georgia, as stated in an official release from the commission. This engagement underscores the collaborative efforts of international bodies in maintaining the integrity of electoral processes worldwide.
