Jordan participated in the 3rd meeting of the Arab Observatory for Human Rights (AOHR), which was recently held in Cairo.

During the meeting, the participants discussed ways to develop the AOHR strategic action plan and preparations to form internal social, legal and economic committees to achieve the AOHR’s vision in the defense of Arab issues.

Rasmiya Kaabneh, a former member of Jordan’s Lower House and member of the AOHR Board of Trustees, represented Jordan in the meeting.

Kaabneh said the AOHR does not “interfere in the internal affairs of countries,” and carries out its duties using contact channels with organizations and bodies to consolidate human rights values.

The AOHR will cooperate with Arab countries to follow up laws and legislation approved by Arab parliaments, she said.

The discussions, she said, will adopt a plan to work on the related Arab document, submitted from the Arab countries conference held in Tunisia.
