Cairo: Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Obaidallah Maaytah participated in the 9th MENA Police Chief Meeting in Cairo, uniting regional law enforcement heads and security experts to combat crime.
According to Jordan News Agency, Maaytah, while speaking at the summit, discussed the rapid evolution of criminal tactics, urging regional agencies to enhance intelligence sharing and coordination. He emphasized that addressing cross-border threats, such as terrorism, organized crime, cybercrime, financial fraud, and human and drug trafficking, requires an integrated framework powered by modern technology and artificial intelligence to preempt threats.
Maaytah reiterated Jordan's commitment to utilizing Interpol's databases and services to strengthen international policing efforts. He engaged in discussions on the sidelines with regional and international leaders, including Interpol Secretary General Valdecy Urquiza and Arab Interior Ministers Council Secretary General Mohammed bin Ali Koman.
The discussions revolved around expanding institutional partnerships, joint training, capacity building, and practical measures to address shared security challenges.
