Doha: Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Monday visited Doha, where he met with Qatari Ministry of Interior Undersecretary, Abdullah Al Kaabi, to discuss security cooperation between the two countries.
According to Jordan News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of security and policing. They emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and successful practices to improve the efficiency of institutional performance and effectively address various security challenges faced by both nations.
During his visit, Maj. Gen. Maaytah made field visits to specialized security bodies, including the General Directorate for Drug Control. He was briefed on the methods and mechanisms employed to combat drug trafficking. Additionally, he visited the General Directorate of Civil Defense to gain insights into emergency response, public safety, and crisis and disaster management procedures.
The itinerary also included visits to the National Command Center and the Police Academy. Here, Maj. Gen. Maaytah learned about modern training and educational programs designed to prepare and qualify security personnel according to international standards.
Throughout the visit, the PSD head highlighted the deep-rooted and brotherly relations between Jordan and Qatar, lauding the Gulf Arab state's advanced security expertise. Both sides stressed the importance of joint security coordination to ensure the stability of their respective countries.
