Jordan Securities Commission Approves JD334.4 Million Treasury Bonds and Bills for 2024.

Amman: The Jordan Securities Commission's (JSC) Board of Commissioners has given the green light to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) for the registration of four issues of Jordanian Treasury bonds and bills for the year 2024, totaling JD334.4 million. According to Jordan News Agency, the thirtieth issue of Jordanian Treasury bonds for 2024, valued at JD100 million, features a five-year maturity with a maturity date set for November 7, 2029. This issue carries a weighted average interest rate of 6.166%. Similarly, the thirty-first issue also amounts to JD100 million, with a five-year maturity and a maturity date of November 17, 2029. It holds a slightly lower weighted average interest rate of 6.162%. In addition to the bonds issued in Jordanian dinars, the second issue of Jordanian Treasury bonds for 2024, denominated in US dollars, amounts to $110 million. These bonds also have a five-year maturity with a maturity date of November 12, 2029, and a weighted average interest rate of 6.5%. However, these bonds will not be listed on the Amman Stock Exchange. Furthermore, the fifth issue of Jordanian Treasury bills, also in US dollars, is set at $82 million with a 6-month maturity. The maturity date for these bills is May 14, 2025, and they carry an average annual yield of 5.751%. Like the other US dollar-denominated bonds, these bills will also not be listed on the Amman Stock Exchange.
