Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalayleh has announced that the recent Cabinet decision to amend assessment instructions for public sector jobs will be extended to include employees of Jordan-run departments of Awqaf and the Chief Justice in Jerusalem.
According to Jordan News Agency, Khalayleh emphasized Jordan's commitment to supporting these ministry-affiliated employees in Jerusalem in recognition of their dedication and mission. The minister highlighted this move as a reflection of Jordan's leadership, under His Majesty King Abdullah II, in safeguarding and preserving Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as supporting the political initiatives undertaken by Jordanian diplomacy.
Khalayleh explained that the amendments involve measures to evaluate and determine salaries for employees of the Directorate of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem Affairs, based on the basic salary scale. Additionally, these employees will receive a "Royal Steadfastness Allowance" of 400%. Furthermore, an allowance will be provided to workers of the Department of the Chief Justice in Jerusalem.
The ministry currently employs over 750 individuals at Al-Aqsa Mosque, with at least half of these appointments made during King Abdullah II's reign.
